Studio news
This time the news is not so good...
June 15, 2006 -
An announcement was made by the Leadership Team
at the Disney-MGM Studios today that the final day of
the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire — Play It!" Attraction
will be on Saturday, August 19th, 2006. The soundstages
will then be modified to allow the construction and
subsequent operation of a new ride for guests at the
Studios. This construction will entail the dismantling of
the control rooms and dressing rooms in the Production
Hallway and the reshaping of the portico area. The facility
will no longer host television and film production, per se,
with the exception of special features and tapings in the
fashion of current ride mounts, etc. for visiting media
and television shows.
Broadcast Operations and Disney Production Services does
not have a final location for their residence after relocating
from the soundstages, but that announcement is expected
in the near future. Once the announcement has been made,
Broadcast Operations will be relocating the edit bays and
equipment that currently resides in the Production Hallway
to that new location to continue its operation in
support of numerous Disney and third-party clients.

"Now It's Time To Say Goodbye..."
Hello Friends,
Well the party's been over for a couple of weeks,
but the Twentieth Anniversary Of Walt Disney World's
Fifteenth Birthday Celebration Committee (TAOWDWFBCC)
wanted to ding-a-ling your email bell one last
time to tell everyone what a swell time we
had -- not only with those folks that turned out,
but also with just talking with all of you guys again
after all these years! It is clear that we share a special
bond of friendship that time cannot erase. We achieved
the most important of our goals: putting together a fairly
complete list of contacts, hosted both remote and local
party gatherings, and caught a mellow buzz by the Gulf.
(We closed down the Ikky WooWoo Tiki Bar both Friday
and Saturday nights!) We also managed to keep J.R. away
from the grill, developed a magnificent blog site, produced
some t-shirts, and took loads upon loads of pictures. Sure
we've all gone back to our dreary lives now, but anytime
we want to relive the Rum Runners, the swimming to the
buoy, the wearing of menus on heads at a fancy restaurant,
or the good times of a picnic at Turkey Lake Park while
kids chased the ducks... it is all just a click away, thanks
to the Internet.
Here are the links you should bookmark so that we are
never that far away:

comments are encouraged by one and all)

Now that the first reunion is history, there is lots of
talk about doing it again soon. There are even rumblings
about how the '89 ELMO is currently in the planning stages.
(The consensus is that the majority of today's golf management
community in central Florida has forgotten our past transgressions
and may misguidedly welcome our little event with open
arms. Woo hoo!) So look for more fun down the pike, and
join in to help if you feel like it.
It was fun! Thanks for playing along. We'll do it again
sometime. See you in the funny papers!

This time last week we were at the Giraffe!
Hey guys,
It was great seeing everyone this weekend (from what we can remember). Stu sent us all his pictures from the big reunion weekend. Someone really should have taken Stu's camera from him cause he's not in any of the pictures.
Take a look:

Sunday in the park...
Sunday we packed up the cars, took a last glance
at the Gulf of Mexico and headed to
Turkey Lake Park in Orlando. There we met
up with more "Friends of Stu" and our grilling buddies
were a large family of Samoans
(or was it a family of large Samoans?).

We Have Kickoff!!!
Thursday, May 4 - The Giraffe Lounge
Everyone's weekends should start on a Thursday and that's what we did. We met at the Giraffe Lounge at the Royal Plaza in Lake Buena Vista. They brought it back, not quite the way we remembered it, but it's there and they serve adult beverages...worked for us.
